Bob's South African Safari

Days Nine, Ten, Eleven: May 2-4, 2005

The next morning we woke at 4:00 AM and traveled to a village in the bush.  Sam Fadala, Bob Hodgdon, Chris Hodgdon and I distributed 80 packages of meat to the villagers.  They have nothing and yet were happy and smiling.  They danced when they got the meat.

Sam brought a large bag of jelly beans and the children went wild with excitement.  He was mobbed by them. I gave my KC Royals hat to a beautiful teenage girl that was quite shy and yet kept flirting with me.  One thing we learned from these people is that they desperately need a better water source.

After this stop, we drove to Kruger National Park for 2 days of exploring and viewing animals. The place is incredible.   It is the size of Vermont and New Hampshire combined.  The eastern border is Mozambique.
